APPLYING FOR HEAD START & EARLY HEAD START

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

Eligibility is generally based on family income at or below the poverty level according to the Poverty Guidelines published by the federal government. Children in foster care, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (TANF or SSI) are eligible regardless of income.

HEAD START

To be considered for Head Start, children must be 3-5 years old and from families who are at or below the federal poverty income guidelines. 

EARLY HEAD START

Families with children up to 3 years old, and prenatal may be considered for Early Head Start if the family meets federal low-income guidelines and the parent is enrolled in school or employed full time.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR ENROLLMENT:
  • Immunization Record

  • Child's Health Insurance 

  • Child's Birth Certificate

  • Proof of Income (one of the following)

    • last year's tax return​

    • W-2's

    • 3 pay stubs
